Centerville 1 - Beavercreek 2 (OT) |
The Centerville Elks State tournament run came to an end tonight, losing to Beavercreek 1-2 in the second OT.
After playing through a scoreless first half, Chas Pressel made a run up the goal line to find Grant Kercher who
banged it home, giving the Elks a 1-0 lead. Minutes later though, Beavercreek
knotted the game at one all.
It wasn't until 4 minutes left the second OT period that the golden goal was scored, ending the Elks season.
Congratulation to all our players on a fine soccer season and to our
seniors players that will be graduating from Centerville; to the all
the coaches on a job well done
this year and to the parents and student body that supported Elks
soccer this season.

Centerville 2 - Loveland 1 |
Centerville scored a 2-1 victory over the Loveland Tigers to notch the Division I District Championship.
Phil Hagerty scored off a header received from a corner kick early in the match. Later in the half and
again off a Elk corner kick, the Elks received a goal from the Tigers.
Centerville will take on Beavercreek for the Regional Semi-Finals on Tuesday October 25 at Wayne High School. Match time is 7:00 pm.

Centerville 3 - West Carrollton 0 |
Phil Hagerty, Alex Algyris and Stephan Grunwald scored for the Elks in a 3-0 victory over West Carrollton.
Centerville advances to play Div 1 Cincinnati Loveland HS this Saturday October 25. Match is again at Northmont with a start time of 5:00 pm.

2008 Tournament play has started for the Elks. In this Saturday afternoon match, Phil Hagerty and
Alex Algyris had a goal and an assist each to power the Elks to 8-0 victory.
Centerville advances to play West Carrollton next Tuesday October 21 at Northmont. Match time is 6:00 pm.

The Elks finish the 2008 regular season with a 12-1-3 record after a 0-0 draw against Wayne.
Centerville now waits for the winner of the Stebbins/Piqua match. Centerville will host the winner
on Saturday October 18 at 7:00 pm.

The Elks played to a 0-0 draw in their final regualr season home match against the Firebirds of
Lakota West on Saturday.
Centerville will take their 3-1-1 GWOC Central (12-1-2 for the season) record into the final contest of the regualr season
at Wayne, who also has an identical 3-1-1 GWOC Central record, on Tuesday, October 7. Match times 5:30 and 7:30 pm.

The Elks pushed their record to 12-1-1 (3-1-1) with a 2-0 win over conference rival Kettering Fairmont.
Phil Haggerty had a goal while Grant Kercher has a goal and an assist.
Next the Elks play host to Lakota West on Saturday October 4. 5:00 and 7:00 pm match start times.

The Elks made it look easy in a 5-0 shutout over the visiting Springboro Panthers.
Grant Kercher scored twice with Alan Argyris and Phil Haggerty each had a goal and assist. Brad Baumer scored the games
first goal while Nick Hull, Chad Pressel and Stephan Grundwald were credited with assists.
Next up is the Fairmont Firebirds in a GWOC Central Conference showdown.
Match is on Tuesday September 30, at Home with 5:30 and 7:30 pm

The Elks traveled to Northmont High School to take on the Thunderbolts and came away with a 3-1 victory.
Centerville goals scored by Grant Kercher (Lonsert), Chas Pressel (Spires) and Matt Click. The Elks are 10-1-1 on the season.
Next is a match is at Home against the Panthers of Springboro; Saturday September 27 at 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm.

The Elks played host to the Thomas Worthington Cardinals, and played to a 1-1 draw. Alex Argyris netted the goal for Centerville.
The draw puts the Elks record at 9-1-1 heading into the next macth. That match is at Northmont on Tuesday September 23, times are 5:30 and 7:30 pm.

The Elks defense allowed only two shots on goal which made Senior Elk Phil Hagerty's first half scrore all they would need in a 1-0 victory over

Grant Kercher had three goals and an assist, Matt Spires and Ross Gabbard each had two goals and Alex Argyris had a goal and an assist in a 10-0 win over the Springfield Wildcats.
Other Elks to score were Matt Click and Will Preston. John Flory had two assists while Sean Hayes and Joe Lonsert each were credited with an assist
The Elks record now stands at 7-0-0.

The take it on the road and notch a 4-0 win over the Fairborn Skyhawks. Centerville goals scored by Kercher (assist Huber), Argyris (assist Flory), Grunwald and Hull (pk).
The Elks record now stands at 6-0-0.

The Elks traveled south to Cincinnati Moeller and came away with a 3-1 victory.

The Elks traveled to Troy and came away with another shut-out victory. Grant Kercher scored 3, Matt Spires scored twice
and Joe Lonsert and Eric Villarreal added one each in the 7-0 win over the Trojans.

Senior Midfielder Al Argyris scored early in the second half to put the Elks ahead and then scored an
insurance goal on a PK late into the second half as the Elks recorded their second shut-out of the year,
a 2-0 win over Westerville North. Next game is Tuesday, August 26th at Troy. No JV match, varsity only at 6:00 pm.

The Elks started the 2008 season with a 2-0 victory over the visiting Miamisburg Vikings.
Grant Kercher and Eric Villareal scored their first goals of the season in the first half while the Elks defense
only allowed 2 shots on goal all night.
Next up is a trip to the Columbus area to take on Westerville North on Saturday August 23. Match times are Noon and 1:30 pm.
